Michael Suleiman

Founder

Michael Suleiman is an accomplished public policy professional who began his career in the New Jersey Legislature, working for former State Senator Jim Whelan. In that role, Michael was responsible for crafting legislation that supported veterans, grew the gaming industry, and improved roads and bridges throughout the state. Throughout his career, Michael has been a champion for the people, helping residents cut through bureaucratic red tape in Trenton to ensure they receive the assistance they need.

Currently, Michael is making waves at the South Jersey Transportation Authority, the operator of the Atlantic City Expressway and Atlantic City Airport. His expertise in aviation, surface transportation, and mass transit has helped secure millions of dollars to improve South Jersey's transportation infrastructure. Michael is a familiar face in political circles throughout the state, and he volunteers his time daily to help people in need. Whether it's a casino worker who can't access their unemployment benefits or seniors struggling to get their property tax reimbursement, Michael is always ready to lend a helping hand.

In his role as Chairman of the Atlantic County Democratic Committee, Michael showcased his leadership skills in a bipartisan effort to address New Jersey's judge shortage. With his unwavering commitment to justice, the state approved five Superior Court judges and two Administrative Law Judges in South Jersey. Additionally, Michael played an instrumental role in getting a permanent police chief appointed in Atlantic City and a new Atlantic County prosecutor.

Throughout his career, Michael has volunteered and served on the board of many professional organizations including the Mainland-Pleasantville NAACP, the Chamber of Commerce of Southern New Jersey, the Southern New Jersey Development Council, Airports Council International, the Metropolitan Business and Citizens Association, and the Stockton University Veterans Advisory Board. Michael graduated magna cum laude from Rutgers University and obtained a Master's in Public Administration from the prestigious University of Pennsylvania's Fels Institute of Government. He is a lifelong resident of Galloway Township, and his unwavering dedication to public service continues to inspire many.

Michael founded South Jersey Forward because of his strong commitment to public service and desire to make a positive impact on the lives of South Jersey residents by tackling bold policy initiatives outside of partisan politics.
